End of the game (an obvious spoiler)

I wonder can anyone finish this game with a melee char? I was lucky that I went for the range attack. But it looks like it is almost impossible to reach to the chaos dragon with a melee attacker.

Any idea why it is so inequitable? I never felt any disadvantage of being a range attacker for the entire game but at the end it looks like it's the only option...

i killed the head driud and i couldnt get any further with only melee attacking, no magic execpt fortitude

The first time I played the game I used a melee character, but it's definitely easier to use an archer.

Well my gf could reach until Azi Dhaka with a melee char and killed him with that hit&flee bug.. But the rest is hell difficult. Even if she tries with a bow, with the lack of skill she can only hit once or twice to the assasins and the rest is miss, miss, miss...
