Darkwood quest

I got the wielder quest from the guy in the Calle Perdida, but when I talk to the woodcutter in El Bosque I don't get the option to get darkwood. I only get the option to go save his daughter, so I did that, but after that still no dialogue option for darkwood. Any help?

After saving the woodcutter's daughter, he should ask you to help him clear out his basement of some bad guys. Once you do that, he'll get the wood for you.
