Barcelona Guards know i'm a heretic! Help needed...

Hi everyone,

Enjoying lionheart tremendously but I made the mistake of casting a spell right near the Barcelona main gates and the guards came after me. Now everytime I go to Barcelona, they'll attack me. I have to try to sneak in and it's not very easy at all

Any idea how I can appease the guards or make it such that I can walk around in Barcelona without them attacking me?

Welcome to Gamebanshee forums.

Beyond reloading from an older save point, I'm not sure if thhere is a way around. I don't think there are any reprecussions from killing the guards (especially if the Inquisitors and Knights leave you alone). What about the guards/ Knights/ Inquistors inside buildings? If they don't attack you on sight, you should be fine for the most part.
If you experiment, set up a proper save (rather than a quick save) beforehand and kill a few guards and see what happens.
How far are you into the game? If you have reached Montserrat, then the factions won't ask you to complete any more quests in Barcelona, meaning that anyone outside could be dead or alive without any adverse effect on the storyline.

Hullo, stormy.

I had that happen to me, once, but very early in the game, and I was able to reload a quicksave so I had no problem. It looks as though you are no longer in a position to do that.
I don't know what to suggest, other than what Ravager already said. You could try buying Stealth potions from the merchant at the crossroads, and the herbalist in Barcelona - but I expect you already do that - and, of course, build up your Sneak skill every time you level up. (What level are you?).
Also, walk dead centre between the gate guards, so they are less likely to see you, and in the city itself take ways that avoid guards as much as possible.

But, personally, if you are less than level 11, I'd just start over. I think I'd start over anyway, regardless of level. Consider it a learning experience. After all, you now have a better idea how things work, and you can try out other races, classes, traits, and skills.
