| | specialist mage (transmuter or abjurer), probably an elf
10 str (why more?)
20 dex (ac)
16 con (highest bonus for non-fighters)
18 int (spells and skills/lore)
10 (at least) wis (lore and saves)
8 cha (or less, depending on how many points i can spend on wis)
Let's just hope there are some really juicy spells in IWD2

| | | I would probably stick with generally speaking the party I already had in BGII, mainly because even though some of the characters are interesting, they have those defficiencies I simply do not like.
Half-Elf fighter/mage(my character)
Gold Dwarf fighter(with heavy specialization in axes and clubs)
Elf mage
Drow elf mage
human Ranger
elf cleric

| | | No more kits. 3E multi-classing has replaced them.

| Has it been officialy announced? I thought that was just a possibility. Great if it is, though. I much prefer full multiclassing ability than some sort of hybrid system. |

I much prefer full multiclassing ability than some sort of hybrid system. | This is true, i've just red the interview from the producer, Darren Monahan and he states that they withdrawn the kits from the game. here is a quote: Have the character classes been finalized, or are there some possibilities still being tossed around? Any chance we’ll see the sorcerer equivalent of a Wild Mage?
Yes, we’ve settled on strictly 3rd Edition classes: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer and Wizard. We previously announced that kits would be in the game, but through feedback from our fans and a number of new changes we’re making, we decided to remove them in favor of implementing more of the 3E rules.

| | My imagination has gone wild! For the leader of the group I would have a LE Monk/Sorcerer, drow ( they are called dark moon monks or something like that), then I have also made up other interesting characters that I might implement
1-LE Monk/Sorcerer, dark-elf
2- TN Druid/Sorcerer, wood-elf, or human
3-_G Cleric/Paladin, moon-elf
4- CN Barbarian/Rogue, halfling
5- NG Fighter/Mage, human
6- CG Bard/Fighter, half-elf |

I hope so. | As far as i know from PoR, weapon proficencies in 3E D&D are divided in simple weapons which can be used from all classes , martial weapons for the fighting classes, armour and shield.

| | | Archer! Hey all! This is my first post, although I have been lurking for about a year or so now...
I personally think that the Archer is one of the best kits, it is well balanced with it's special abilities and limitations. It is a shame that they felt the need to down-grade the kit for IWD2... Anyway, I ramble on! Here is what I think I will play:
Wood Elven Ranger (Archer) Longbow and Longsword
I am also quite partial to the Monk as well, I just wish they would stop tweeking the kits!
