Toral Sorn is not there ... and yet he is

So ... as you can see on the screenshot, a friend and I have a SLIGHT problem.
Toral Sorn is not there - no sign of him and yet from time to time he says something, as you can see ("I am one with you, oh Ilmater").
We can't speak with him, since he is not there as a model. We need him for the story to go on, right? Any ideas?
We already tried loading an earlier save game and also reboot the game and stuff, nothing worked.

I'm not sure, but I think you can continue without him. He does give you a quest, but I believe the Drow Riki out in the Level 4 hallway also gives you the same quest. You definitely don't get any of the necessary quest items directly from him, so getting them should be no problem.

So, try talking to Riki to get the quest, gather the necessary items (the walkthrough here tells you what they are), and then give it a shot. The cleric does give you more info than she does, so you may need to use a walkthrough to figure out exactly what to do next.

In my experience, when character animations don't show up like that, it's a bad corruption that can only be fixed by a total restart; that's just general experience talking, not anything specific to your situation.
