| | | Strange. I also tried it with a game that was saved before Ribald was installed. That gave the exact same result with the items you sent me: no stacking of the Amulet with the Armour... |

Reinstall the initial Bonus Merchant and change only w#jah1.itm in the Override folder with the modified file. It works for me.
NB. If U possessed already Harper's Pin, modifications don't work! U should acquire it after copying modified w#jah1.itm file into Override. |

| | | Ok, I'll reinstall the bonus merchant, copy your Jaheira-Pin to my override and start with a game where I didn't speak with Ribald before. That should do it, right? |

That should do it, right? | Hopefully. I tried it once again and it works for me. U can see changes in your ingame profile (the part related to AC). My monk of level 14/3 has AC=17. My profile says : "Base :10 ; Generic : +2 ; Dexterity : +5". If I put chainmail, it becomes "Base : 10 ; Generic : +2 ; Armor : +8 ; Dexterity : +5". When I put Harper's Pin, it becomes "Base : 10 ; Generic : +2 ; Deflection : +7 ; Dexterity : +5". If I put both items, it says "Base : 10 ; Generic : + 2; Armor : +8 ; Deflection : +7 ; Dexterity : +5" with overall AC equal to 32.
P.S. When I saved modified Harper's Pin item file from my sent message, it became w_jah1 instead of w#jah1. So correct it too please.

| | | I tested it, and it worked, but...
It had no in-game name, nor description, and it has a low price.
Also, it stacks with a shield item. My AC reads as "10 base + X armour + Y dex + 4 Shield + 7 Deflection." So I really believe there's a seperate Shield modifier. Ofcourse, since at the moment it's a deflection bonus, it overlaps any rings of protection. |

| | okay, in order to get the correct name, description and price, U should put modified file into IWD2\merchant\itm folder and reinstall Bonus merchant mod (sorry, I forgot about that ). There is indeed "Shield" part of AC and I tested it, it doesn't increase overall AC. I'll test other options, maybe Generic bonus will be stackable with everything. |

| | | I *think* the reason that the shield-type AC doesn't increase overall AC is because it doesn't apply to touch attacks. Is that possible?
So, first putting the modified item in the merchant folder, *after* that I re-install the bonus merchant? |

| | | Shield shouldn't give immunity to projectiles. Only magic missile spell. Compare to the second level spell that gives DR to arrows and other standard non-magical missiles (enchanted arrows count). Why would a 1st level spell be better (MUCH) than a second?
Shield should stack with generic, armor, and deflection AC. It should not stack with an equipped shield. (Can't have 2 shields)

| | Claudius : Thanx a lot for this detailed info! Unfortunately, the implementation is not always correct. It's the case of Shield spell which added bonus to Armor part of AC. Now we are trying to fix it and related things.
Yeah, U are right, the second part of the spell is "Immunity to spell Magic Missiles" and not "Immunity to projectiles". GawainBS : Great news, its seems that I've figured out the correct procedure! Shield part of AC bonus corresponds to ... simultaneous choice of Armor and Deflection in spells/items. The engine reads it as Shield (U can see it in your ingame profile). Shield bonus vs projectiles corresponds to ... triple choice Armor/Deflection/Shield in spells/items.
I've just made tests, it works perfectly and compatible with armors and protection items (and not stackable with other shields as it should be)!
I'll send U corrected Shield spell and Harper's Pin a bit later today!
Good luck,
Yigor

| | | I'm looking forward to test it! Have you updated the Shield-spell on its own as well? So that when a wizard casts it, he gets the same benefit? |
