Problem on exit of Dragon's eye

Hello all,
I have a problem on the last day of the last level in the Dragon's eye. I am trying to prevent Izbelah from casting that spell of hers.
Anywya, I manage to reach the Archon fella, but when I choose to speak to him and ask him to take me to the embassy, the game promts me with a red line: "dialogue may not be initiated at this time".
Or something like that.

Please advise, cannot pass this stage no matter what I do.

what path are you taking to the boatman?

if you have a speedy guy + haste, you can run "counter clockwise" and make it through the rockfall before it seals that path, and then talk to archon. and you're off.

at least that's how it's supposed to work.

i've not experienced this issue.

possibly there is a spell effect on your char that is preventing conversation?

and sometimes there may be a script running that's preventing conversation, maybe try an earlier save prior to "day 4"

beyond that have you installed the patch?

Hi there.
Finally a reply ...!
Well I took my highest dexterity guy with boots of speed with HASTE spell in effect and I am taking him through the west side through the rock slide which he successfully evades due to his high DEX. But... when I reach Archon the boatman I cannot initiate dialogue. What gives? My game is not patched. I am afraid that if I will patch it my saves will no longer work. and man I am not mentally ready to go over the whole game just to reach this point again ...

Any other ideas ??

have you tried going the long way?


you could install the game in another folder, copy your saves, install the patch and see what happens, then move your save back or continue w/ the patched game?

Don't know what happened that it worked now but finally it did. I could initiate dialogue with the boatman and I am now finally through that point.

This is the last time I am playing an unpatched game that's for sure...
