outside the monastary(spoiler?)

Outside the Black Raven Monastary, there are two white wyrms. In thier nest is an egg and a ring. The wyrms are docile unless thier egg is stolen. Is the egg an important part to the plot? I hate to kill things without reason. But I hate to backtrack without reason as well.

The egg isn't an important part. You can kill the wyrms and take the egg to make a potion later on in the game if you have a high enough alchemy.

You can also offer the ring to one of the monks and he gives you some xp for being honest (and you get to keep the ring because its not his)
