No Fox's Cunning or Owl's Wisdom Spells?

Does anyone know why these were left out of the game, while Eagle's Splendor, Bull's Strength, and Cat's Grace are included? My rogue could use fox's cunning, and my cleric and monk could use owl's wisdom...

Just wondering....

I know that the developers had to cram IWD2 together on an abbreviated and hectic schedule, and spent a lot of time making the 3rd Ed rules work. They cribbed some maps from IWD1 and cut some other corners where they could. I suspect that's why.

It seems it would be trivial to add them, though, since they added Eagle's Splendor, Bull's Strength, and Cat's Grace.

Maybe they thought it would be unbalancing?

Strange....

I read this thread right after it was posted, I did notice IWD lacked Fox's Cunning but never thought much of it.

Still, if you think about it. Wisdom and Intelligence are used to determine the amount of spells divine casters and wizards can prepare. Charisma for sorcerers doesn't generate this problem as it determines actual spells per day. Chances are the developers ran into problems with the added spellslots with regards to levelling up or resting. Rather than rework the system they left these spells out.

It's just a theory, but it does seem too much of a coincedence for the exact 2 abilities that add spell preperation slots to be left out.

The reason is just the same as in any crpg. You can't implement every spell available and having to search through hundreds of available spells for each caster at each rest will harm the playability.
So the developers have to choose which spells they implement, str,dex and cha buffers were already in older IE games and are demanded by the majority. Fox's cunnung or owl's wisdom aren't that popular and I think that adding them would rather harm the gameplay experience since you just get another 2 spells for casting after each rest and making more stat buffing items pointless.

I rule out AvatarOfLight's theory about problems with spell memorizing since there exist items which raise those stats. If you're into modding it should be a matter of minutes to create them (also bear's endurance) considering how little you have to change from existing spells.

LOL! I find it hard to understand why having more spells at your disposal would harm the game playing experience. For me it would enhance it. Plus, there are many less useful spells already implemented.

In particular, being able to buff intelligence and wisdom would help with monk AC, spell DCs, and skill bonuses, all nice things.
