Newbie Question Disable Device in Chapter 2

I have a thief that cannot disable the traps in the Foothills of the Western Pass. Can someone please tell me in a painfully simple way how to "disable device" skill should work to disable the various wood piles throughout this section. Thanks!! ;]

The rate of disable traps success depend on your thief disable trap skill value. The bigger the value the bigger chance your thief can disarm the trap.

To disable trap encounter (which is shown in red color after a successfull detect trap) is to click the thiefing button and point it into the trap - it will change into a trap like icon. Click on it - if your thief have big disarm trap skill then your thief can successfully disarm the trap. If your thief fail try detect the trap again - most trap disappear after it was triggered, but not all the trap in IWD2 like that

Yeah. I couldnt disarm them at the time, my remove trap skill was low. So, I just took the damage. Not a big deal in that specific area.
