Need powergaming a character.

I'd really love to play a Rogue/Bard combo in this game.

I'm not dead-set on race yet, but I'm thinking Halfling or Human.

This character is meant to be a support character for me, using a crossbow from the back ranks when not singing. I'd like him to handle all of the talking, traps and locks in the game also.

Curious: Of the description I've given above, and with a high enough INT, is the Rogue class even needed? Could I go with a single-classed Bard (I'm thinking Drow for their perfect racial bonuses)?

Any and all help is appreciated. TIA.

1.) You don't need thieving skills, locks can be bashed and traps triggered.

2.) Any character with high int and decent dex can handle the thieving skills if you want to do it the traditional way, even a half-orc cleric.
