most/least favorite feats

There are quite a few feats to consider, some of them controversial. How do you rate each of 'em? Will you be giving a particular feat to many party members? Are there feats you wouldn't want to spend a single point on?

Combo of Ambidexterity and Two Weapon Fighting for a fighter sounds lethal to me.

Ambidexterity and two-weapon fighting are hallmarks of the ranger aren't they???

If a character takes a single level as a ranger, they gain those feats. That's all that's required.

So if you take a race with fighter as favored class or one that has no favored class you can be a ranger 1/fighter x and get a lot of the ranger benefits.

Exactly. This seems to make rangers the perfect class to take for a level, only.

On the other hand, look at fighters. Those people receive feats all the time! Fighters really come into their own in 3E.

How many feats do players get to start the game? At level up? Per class or race? I looked, but couldn't find out.

It's both profession and race-related. You can check it all out by looking at the 3E rules. One point: humans get an extra feat at the start of the game.

WARNING---
You have to wear light armor for those abilities to work if you use it by taking the Ranger route to get them free. If you wear medium or heavy armor the feats will not work and you will get the HIGH penalties for dual weapons!

One of the most useful feats in the game is the Strong Back feat; sure there's no glamour in being able to carry an extra 50% more weight around, but it sure comes in handy.

Sub-vocal Casting is also very useful for spellcasters.
