Mandrake root in Dragons eye problem

I found the modified root and used it to make the potions, but when I go to speak to the chap in the prison he keeps telling me i still need to switch the modified root with the real root.

Where am I supposed to leave the modified root? I have left it on both tables in the lab, in the room where the ghosts sword was found down the ancient Wyrms place.

In short:

As far as I know 2 things (well 3) have to happen.

1) REMOVE the real root from the table. Otherwise nothing will work.

2) Put the modified root on the table. It should give you a message saying the modified root has been substituted (in your journal and onscreen I think?)

3) Pull the chain (or wait untill the intimidated chemist dude does it if you don't have high enough alchemy).

Green lights flash on the table for awhile and then the potion should be there. If you identify it...it should say modified histachii brew (or something to that effect).

Try it out. What I said is just from memory but I'm fairly sure.
