I haven't actually started playing, but I set up my characters.
I went for much role play and not much fire power. [1/2 orc monk (m/c to rogue). Halfling Brabarian. Gold Dwarf fighter (m/c cleric) are the only muscle then Teifling bard, human mage, and elf druid.] Hoping to wow them with a stunning array of feats and skills really. (no stunts)
Kayless I took your advise and am Rangerless. (Maybe m/c to one for two weapon later)
Yep. | A very nice role-playing group. I'm actually going through IWD2 for a second time, with a new party. The first one (detailed earlier on this thread) worked quite well, though in retrospect I should have jettisoned one of characters for another tank (they were fine individually, but as a whole I usually like to have two heavy armored characters to soak up damage).

| | I know this is a bit off-topic, but a just had a question for you, Kayless, regarding weaponry in IWD2.
Do you by any chance possess(sp?) a list of the weapons included in IWD2, very interesting in the exotic weapons, but how many of the, will there be? I´m betting the spiked chain two-bladed sword won´t be innit, though I seriously wish they were.

| | | The only weapon in the game considered exotic is the bastard sword.
All of the odd weapons from NWN do not make an appearance here.

| | I feel your pain, Jaesha. I wish I had a Dwarven Waraxe for my dwarf paladin (a Holy Avenger Dwarven Waraxe would've been sweet).

| | | That's a pretty interesting idea Kayless. I supposed once it becomes clear on how to create and implant items in the game, someone will do it.
Still though, you would've figured such avenues would have been explored before.
There's nothing quite like finding unique items in the game. Off topic, I remember coming across carsomyr for the first time and crying because I had no paladin in my party. Keldorn had also been chopped up into tiny pieces in that game. He was dead and gone forever.

| | I was disappointed by the lack of respectable magical heavy armor in the game. http://scorpius.150m.com/master/smilie/xldepressed.gif It wasn’t until the very end that I found a half-decent suit of armor for my dwarf and cleric. The first IWD had some great sets of armor, I why wonder why they dropped the ball here. http://www.buffybb.net/boards/confused.gif

| | | Just a few questions.. A FEW ;) I have a Paladin of Helm and am ready to Multi-Class him to Fighter. Level 5 Paladin.. Maybe a bit much in Paladin, but it should cause no real problems.. I guess my real question is, should I just stay with Paladin?
I also have a level 5 Rogue and was wondering how the 20% EXP hit works if I change her to a Ranger for a level or so.. If I give her a level in Ranger will the EXP hit stop as soon as I start gaining levels in Rogue again?
Also..
Wait, no also.. I guess thats it
Thanks!

| | | Don't know much about the paladin class, I avoid them.
as far as the rogue, what is the race of the rogue? that will determine any xp penalties incurred if you take on a second profession.

| | She is a Wild Elf. I can manage the EXP hit for one level as a Ranger as long as it goes away after I start gaining in Rogue again.. How about if I switch my Paladin to Fighter.. When his Fighter Level gets above his Paladin level, will he stop being such a do gooder? God I hope so..
Thanks again!

| | | for a wild elf, as long as they as the rogue and ranger levels are one than one apart, you will suffer the xp penalty. same goes true for the paladin

If its better healing spells and such, then stick with the paladin. If you want more feats and combat ability, then multi-class to a fighter. God I hope so.. | Sorry, but your paladin will always be a paladin. My gold dwarf ended the game as pal3/ftr12 (or thereabouts) and never ceased to adhere to his paladin code, even when his fighter levels were 4 times that of his paladin ones. If you're getting annoyed by his reactions (turning down rewards for quests and the like) then don't stick him in front.

| | Been experimenting a bit lately. Though I usually don’t like multi-classing spell casters, I’ve found that a single level of paladin does wonders for a sorcerer. The paladin’s Divine Grace ability (which adds the paladin’s Charisma modifier as a bonus to all saving throws) really stiffens the sorc, as well as giving some nice combat skills. All in all not bad for the cost of a single level. http://www.highwaygames.com/forum/im...es/biggrin.gif
