| Yes, you can drop your attribute scores to get more points. However, if you drop a score below 10, you begin to incur penalties to attribute checks/saving throws. For instance, in the first IWD, you could drop the INT of your brick characters to 3 with very few ramifications. Now, if you drop our your INT, you will get fewer skill points when you level up. If you can live with this, there's no reason not to drain out your INT and CHA scores to get more points to add into your other attributes. You don't want to drop WIS too much because that will affect your Will save.
