Ok. I just got the holy advenger but I don't have a paladin, (don't necessarly like to play them) however I do have a half-elf ranger. Is it possible to take only 1 level in paladin just so I can use the sword. also my ranger is only NG not LG. Would I have to change alignments to do so and can I? interesting delima huh? I think I will continue thru the game and just wont level up until I know.

yep, it's possible to take one level of paladin to use the holy avenger and nope you cannot take the level without being LG, dilemma, dilemma....:-)

On another note:it is impossible to change your alignment during the game.

no it is not... there is thing called DalaKeeper II... with that you can change your aligment..

no but changing aligment is not cheating... it is aprt of proper roleplaying... chaotic evil paladin/and evil cleric... is intresting character...(with proper backround story..) and as for those good and evil aligments.. read those.. so you might understand that those are personalitys... and people change so lawfull good paladin turns out to be evil cleric...

I understand what you mean but it does not really matter, ID2 doesnt take alignment into account all that much,only a few times.

Actually, decreasing reputation points by evil acts is a way of "changing alignment" (though it won't change it, actually, but you'll be treated as "evil").
