For God's sake, why it loads so long ?!

Hello everyone.

I have a question for the game gosu here.

WinXP, latest drivers, latest everything, IWD2 full install, patched, no mods,
P4 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, ATI 9500 Pro and it takes 40 seconds to load a game for me.

Bar going for 95% on 5 secs and another 35 secs it sits near the end doing nothing. HDD LED is not flashing.

Of course 2.4GHz is far from top machine, but what the hell, game have recommending setup P3 500, and Doom3 loads save for 2-3 secs, why the 3-year old game needs ten times more?

I was playing with config settings, including tile precache with zero result.

Any thoughts and advices are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have a pretty similar problem, except when I try to enter the game it freezes completely and I have to kill it with task manager. The slider goes all the way to the right and the button lights up, but nothing happens. This is after I have created a party and try to enter the game.

The game used to work just fine, but its been a long time since I last played it. I recently felt like playing it again and reinstalled, but this happened. My specs are Win XP, latest drivers & patch, full install, no mods either, AMD 1800+, 768 ram, gf3 ti200 video card. I have tried most settings but the problem persists.

Anyone have any idea why this might happen? Any way to fix it?

That's the problem. Older games usually run better with older drivers, so try to install a previous driver for your graphics card, that should solve these kind of problems.
