Battle Square

I know I know,
this is gonna be the Kangaxx of the IWD2-forum
But it's not clear to me,
can I finish the battle square after chapter2?
Or do I have to do this before the chapter ends?

Making an (un)educated guess, I think he means later in Chapter 2. That was what I did, and I only played through IWD2 once, so I am no authority on this subject.

How about making a save now which you can go back to later if it doesn't work out say, when you are in chapter 3? Best by test.

I did manage to complete the battle squares before moving on, but boredom almost drove me to come back later
