AC at Chult[ spoiler]

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm trying to take ont he Guardian of the cross roads and I'm not even coming close, my warriors are all lvl13, but what I was wondering was whether they are equipped enough to deal with him, as I may have been slack about that, they all have armour class of around 20-22 whcih seems very low to me...
Also the only warrior who seems ot be able to damage him (apart from a couple of mage spells) is my main one who has the moonblade, the magic damage works. Any help would be appreciated, and comments such as (your party is a joke, would be understood :-p)
