Aaaah - assertion problem!

Hi all,

I hope someone can help. I'm getting an assertion problem in icewind dale 2 and its spoiling my gameplay as I can't play it further.

When I get to the horde fortress I get an assertion problem as follows:

"An assertion failed in Cstore.cpp at line number 200"

I've already seen someone in this forum with the same problem but the link with the solution he suggested is gone.

I have done a web search but all I have is this lead and nothing else.

I have done the patch and done all the suggestions such as emptying temp folders or reinstalling the problem but it is still no use. So frustrating as I was just getting in the game!

Can anyone help??

If none of that works, I'm stumped. The only times I had assertion errors were from the robe/archery/shield error in chult, cured by a patch and from making a mistake with mods, cured by removing all mods from my game.

I've tried all suggestions before from soc before but I'm still get the message. Its a shame as I was really getting into the game, now I've uninstalled it, oh well. Thank for the help derigan, I really appreciate.

I'm now looking into other games like icewind and baldurs gate (i've played them already .. wicked!). For some reason I can't play 3d RPG games such as morrowind as I get really dizzy and end up feeling sick. Does anyone have any suggestions (I'm looking into divine divinity and it looks good so far)?

Uh... you could try Gorasul- Legacy of the Dragon, it has about thesame graphics as BG and IWD. It is quite different if you look at spells and such though. One very annoying thing is that you need some special program to see the movies, and that costs another 15$ or so to download.
But I think it's fun to play.

Thats exactly the type of games I'm looking at. Something like BG and IWD. Divine Divity is fun but it gets pretty repetitive after a while.

Geez folks we must try to help this poor fellow. I hate to see an infinity gamer loose to a measlyPC. I will check into tomorrow, I have to go to beddy-bye. Encouragement though, that counts for something.

I did learn spanish in school but I've forgotten most of it. I'm guessing that it is a forum? If they have the fix then I diffenately learn will start learning the language . thx
