2 quick probs (not rly much of a spolier)

im in the river caverns and i have 2 problems 1 i destroyed the rocks with the mining equipment but when I talk to the guy for the exp the only options for conversation are what do you know about the area, farewell and all that and no it is not complete yet. also im supposed to kill all the monsters in the cave ive check this place in and out a dozen times over all the hook horros and gone everything i could kill is killed what do i do? and also is there a way to boost my intelligence even temporarily so i can figure out that hell bolter device and get the exp? ive got 14 and +2 for intelligence and thats the best my chars have. anyway to increase this?

AFAIR, the mining equipment was the reward for killing all the hook horrors. I think when I talked to him I had already killed them so he just gave the eqpt to me and called us even.

Not sure about the temp intelligence boost. There is an amulate and a ring that give +1 that I had already at that point.

ok but theres still something bothering me he keeps asking if i cleared out the monsters and there arent any options where i can say yes but before he mentioned somethign about rewards i dont care about the items i just want the exp as for the ring it was prolly random so nothing i can do about that. but if i go to the black monastary can i return to that cave in the future if so until what point? because if i can level up by then i may be able to increase my intelligence.

If you dont use crossbows then just dont bother.. COntinue playing and nextime get higher Intelligence character.. seriusly.. just go to Black Raven Monastery..

The Duergar have evil intents at heart. As a result, paladins and some similar classes refuse to cooperate with them. Try talking to them with a thief.

As for the intelligence, wouldn't have a clue, good luck.

got ya and the crossbow he has is an awsome devasting weapon but ive figured out that prob i will simply ahnialate them all so much for the extra exp fixing it but oh well. ahnialation time!

I just did this last night. It's not just a matter of killing off the Hook Horrors. I originally, cleared out everything but the Jellies b/c of their splitting ability. I kept going back and talking to Braud, but couldn't get anywhere either. I then went back and killed the Jellies (which took for freakin ever) and I then I got the option to tell him they were all dead and was rewarded (xp, no montary b/c of solo Monk). He then asks another favor of you

P.S. In one of the rooms, there are a ton of fire beattles. I don't know if you have to slay them to complete this quest or not, but I had before I talked to him originally.
