| | | turning Dead Quick Question:
How do I turn the undead? I click on the skull icon on my cleric, but nothing seems to happen. I know she's not supposed to do any other action while turning, but I don't get any sign that the turning worked. |

| | | You'll know when the undead baddies have a wisp of smoke appear above their heads and they turn tail and run away from you.
It takes a full round to do, so be patient.

| | Thanks, krunchyfrogg, for the heads up. I just wish the user manual for the game was a little clearer on this. I click on the skull for my cleric and just wait and wait and wait. On the upside, I never have to wait a full round cuz my fighters have been slaughtering the lesser shadows with ease. Quote: |

| | Hey, no problem bd. Remember though, your turning undead ability gets better with higher levels, and sometimes a cleric will be too low a level to turn undead (like shadows -- I have never been able to turn them in Chapter 1).
OTOH, on higher levels, undead will just crumble from the turn undead ability.

| | | Make sure the ability stays on too, if the AI is on, the character may chase or do something that automatically deactivates it. |

| | Now I don't feel so bad about not being able to turn shadows. Thanks again! Quote: |

| | I just realized in HOF mode, the undead are a lot harder to turn.

| | That compensates for the higher level. Though in IWD I never bother with Turn Undead, it seems to have little difference, by the time a character is high enough level to use it effectively most of the undead are already dead a chapter or more back. |

| | | It will handier for HoW and TotL If you move over from IWD (around the time you start Lower Dorn) and do HoW and TotL your level will be high to help significantly for those two modules. I did IWD through a couple of sections of Lower Dorn then did How until the time to go to the final area and then did TotL. My Cleric started TotL at level 17 and most undead were exploding, falling into heaps of bones, etc. I went back then finished the last of HoW, again devastating the undead, and then returned to Kuhldahar. The undead near the end of IWD stood no chance at all now as my cleric was around 23rd or 24th level. Mass destruction on a wholesale level. Love to watch wights groan and then explode

| | | Are you sure about that? I'm about 95% sure that you do get XP for exploding undead.
Its the monsters killed by summons that you don't get XP for.

| | | Absolutely **one spoiler** I've always gotten XP for them. It happens so fast that sometimes the info scrolls up and out of sight. Check farther back in the information log. The crypt in TotL is an easy mega mine of XP using Turn Undead. Several of my characters leveled while my cleric did all the work through most of it. **spoiler** Crypt things, Greater Mummies and "apparently" Revenants are immune to Turning. **end spoiler**
If the undead actually "turns" and is not destroyed there is no XP in that case, however.
