Very high level undead are "immune" to turning because they are so tough. The chance to turn is sort of based on hit dice. However, the crypt things are truly immune, and truly annoying.

Remember the Blast Skeletons in one of the levels in Dragon's Eye? They blow up with one hit and you don't get Xp since they were not exactly killed by the party but by their suicide tactic.

However, if you have an invisible cleric turning undead and they crumble, you get xp.

Yeah, if the enemy commits suicide, there isn't any XP. It's only gained if you are responsible, just like you would get experience for killing an enemy with a Fireball spell.

That's interesting, you can get XP for blast skeletons if you turn them? I've always used missiles - only takes one hit, and enables the archer to stay out of the blast radius. Do they "blast" when turned, or just crumble?

Turn Undead has never been that helpful for me. *SPOILER* the only time it helped me when fighting the Banite Priest when you first get into Kulduhar.

Wrong game . You meant Icewind Dale 2 right? Turn undead in that game depends on charisma and the stat intensive builds of 3rd ed makes it a less appreciated stat for priests.

BTW, blast skeletons don't explode when turned. They just crumble and you get xp.
