| | The storyteller The male that tells the story too you he has to be Belhifet. In the end you can hear his voice grow mad when he says "when *GOOD* conquers *EVIL* Also the part when he turns into belhifet is a giveaway. Is this true? Is the storyteller Belhifet?

| | Yes,he is Belhifet. He tricked us all with his soft and kind voice.
And after his torment in hell for 100 years,he is back (as the ending implies). |

| | Huh?!?! I never made this connection. Who is the "storyteller"? I've played IWD, but I can't think of who you're talking about. Also, are you saying that Belhifet comes back as Sarevok? Isn't Sarevok a Bhaalspawn? How would that work? Is this just random speculation, or is there consensus on this? |

| | MINOR SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT FINISHED
The guy whod does the chapter intros - the ones with the "storybook". In the end sequence his voice rises at the telling of the heroes victory - in an angry tone he goes on about Belhifet being banished for 100 yrs and then descends into maniacal laughter.
You see a dark form with a many horned horned head/helm (defintely armout I thought) and glowing green eyes. I thought (IMHO) he looked *way* too much like Sarevok for my liking. Anyone else think so? |

| | I would really like it if Errtu was in the game.
And I dont think Belhifet is Sarevok.
Belhifet is alot stronger plus he is not a godling.Just a demon. |

| | Yes I would say that he did resemble Sarevok....I know it's not him...maybe they just used his outline in IWD so they wouldn't have to make another.. |

| | Hm, lemme think...when you kill a demon, it is banished back to its homeplane for 100 years, right? And Icewind Dale takes place in the past...soooo, maybe the 100 years are over and Balhilfet is back, hm? |

| | Icewind Dale takes place in 1281 DR, the Year of the Cold Soul. Baldur’s Gate takes place 89 years later during 1370 DR, Year of the Tankard. So Belifet isn’t free at the time of Sarevok’s uprising. In fact, he’s not even free at time of Shadows of Amn, which takes place in 1371 DR, Year of the Unstrung Harp. I think you’re just seeing things. The silhouette doesn’t look that much like Sarevok to me. Not to mention the fact that having Sarevok as a half godling possessed by the spirit of a long banished extra-planar demon needlessly complicates the whole Child of Bhaal storyline. There doesn’t need to be a link between all the various D&D games (apart from the occasional magic item lore, which is usually quite subtle). But if you think there’s a connection, more power to you! http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif

| | I can't believe you were so willing to destroy my fantasy that you wen to that level of anality to prove me wrong, Kayless. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Maybe Sarevok is the spawn of Bhaal/Belhifet and who know what else? Pretty f*cked up momma but hey! anything goes in Faerun, right?
And 89 isn't that far from 100. Too close for my comfort. I'll keep my opinion thank you very much and won't patronise you with the arsehole line. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/wink.gif |

| | Hey, stranger things have happened. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/wink.gif Just letting you know the figures make it unlikely. Of course I could be wrong. (Just like I was with The Phantom Menace, who shot Mr. Burns, and the lasting power of disco. Don't ask http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif)

| | I did the Belhifet battle again and I think the storyteller defintely sounds and looks like Sarevok.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/wink.gif
Plus, maybe Mr S is just telling the story - he doesn't necessarily have to be Belhifet. That would explain the 89 years. IWD is only a spin-off from BG1.
Phantom Menace? Don't tell me you didn't realise who Darth Sidious was?! http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif |

| | It can't possibly be Sarevok, who is a product of the Time of Troubles, when Bhaal and the other gods were banished from the pantheon and walked the Forgotten Realms in mortal form. IWD takes place something like 76 years before then; no Drizzt Do'Urden, Wulfgar, or Clan Battlehammer to be seen. The storyteller is just another demon who's hacked off that he can't come to the prime material plane for another hundred years. |

| | My mistake about The Phantom Menace was primarily one of quality. I thought the movie was okay, but not the second coming I was hoping for. Damn my fanboy standards. Honestly, who didn't know who Darth Sidious really was? Give me an etch-e-sketch and some crayons and I'll prove it in court. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif As for the mysterious Belhifet/Sarevok connection, I smell a new conspiracy theory in the works. Come to think of it, the silhouette reminds me a little of the Transcendent One from Planescape Torment. MAYBE THEY’RE ALL THE SAME GUY!!! The mind boggles. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/redface.gif
