| | The Invincible Squirrel In Easthaven, near Hrothgar's house, there's a squirrel on the ground surrounded by children. The squirrel is invincible and cannot be killed and is still present when you return to Easthaven at the end of the game. What is the story with this squirrel? Is there a subplot built around it or what? I've tried all kinds of things, from the sadistic to the saintly, to interact with it, does it have a purpose for being there?

| | Come on. If you killed it, the children couldn't say "Poke it" any more!

Actually, it's a shapechanged Drizzt do'Urden. One of the kids will tell you upon your return.

| | And so the mystery continues. Will we ever truly know the identity of the invisible squirrel? Perhaps it is an avatar of the demi-god Rocky? Perhaps he stepped through a portal in Sigil while searching the multiverse for his proxy Bullwinkle, only to find himself in a sad winterlocked village. Well, if that's the case, I can tell him he's in the wrong part of the realms, because I'm sure I saw his henchman near Valygar's cabin in eastern Amn.

Could it be that you give it to the Elf in the arbortoreum in the Severed Hand? I can't get back to Easthaven yet to try it but I will soon...

I'm surprised no-one's found the quest associated with the Squirrel. You have to try every unused item you come across... |

| | No, couldn't take him to the arbor...how do you spell that? That was my first guess. Besides, who has time to take a squirrel across land and dale to a ruined elven fortress full of ghosts when the living population of such a lovely tourist attraction like Easthaven is inslaved by half-naked one-eyed brutes!
So please, Gruntboy, tell us what must be done to lay the feckless squirrel to rest.

| | Actually, I read somewhere in an interview that originally, if you attacked and killed the squirrel, later on in the game you would be attacked by a pack of squirrels seeking vengeance, but it was changed.

| | Who ever figured out there's a quest with a freakin' squirrel. Is it Secret Squirrel? Will his mole sidekick be present in IWD2? Still, I'm thoroughly captivated as I've been through IWD three times now and I never even thought about the squirrel. Are there clues I've missed each time through the game. Maybe my PC's should stop hacking the children? Please disregard the last comment. Sorry. Sorry. You see, I get carried away.
