Spell Larnin'

I apologize for asking a dumb question, but I'm new to the game.

Other than scribing spells from scrolls into my spellbook, how else can I acquire new spells? Leveling up doesn't seem to allow my bard to acquire new spells. He just has blank spots where he can memorize 1st level spells, but no 1st-level spells are in his book.

Scribing spells is the only way for an arcane caster (mage, specialist mage, bard) to gain more spells.

Divine casters (clerics, druids) are the only characters that gain spell access merely by gaining levels.
