Random items: Do you take what you get, or reload and try for something different?

Just wondering what some of the vets do around here. If there's a random drop, do you reload until you get what you want, or just take whatever comes your way, no matter if it's good or crappy?

Just curious. I remember reloading a while ago, but I think it's more fun to just play the game out.

No, I never reload if the drops are bad.
IMO the drops are something that you must get used to, since if you really reload each time you get bad drop, you are going to do it many, many times.

I've beaten it twice and I must say that the only re-loads I did was when people died or I messed something up....I messed up a lot in the Severed Hand....

Another for taking what you get

I also just take whatever comes. I really haven't perused the items lists here on game banshee much to even know what all is available. Even if I did there, are so many places that random drops occur I would probably drive myself crazy trying to remember what the possible random items are for a particular location.

In my first game I didn't reload.

But in my 2 HoF solos I did at certain points.
I made sure that my solo F/D found a cloak of invisibility for example since I didn't know if she could do without. She never used it in the game.

Getting lucky with random items can make quite a difference.
But the game is easy enough when you do a standard game at any difficulty - even if you always get the worst picks.

Same Here

Haven't soloed. But whatever I've found has either been useful or at least "sellable" if unuseable due to alignment/char class issue (or just something I don't like) so I could buy something that I really could use. Kind of fun sometimes trying to think of a good way to use an new/unusual item.

I just take whatever the good Lord, Lady, or Lords/Ladies has deposited in the treasure chest.

The only time I reload is if someone dies and I don't have access to a resurrect spell or I have no moolah to pay the cleric. Or, I mess up memorizing a spell. Or, if I am uncertain if I made a good dialog decision and I want to find out if there's an alternative that leads to a better dialog outcome.
