All the quests in Easthaven may be enough to level up a character that doesn't require much XP to hit lvl 2, such as a bard, thief, or cleric (assuming you have a full party and have found and completed all the quests). If you have enough, a little '+' sign will appear on the charcter's portrait. Check each character's record screen for its current XP.

Make your characters fight by L-clicking on their portraits then clicking on the enemy. You can also hit the select all button (next to the party AI button in the mid-low right side of your screen) then click on the enemy you wish to attack.

It should all be explained in the manual, which is in .pdf format on Disc 1. Search the disc for "manual" and you will find it.

You can also select multiple players on the screen by left-clicking and dragging your mouse to 'box' them in.
