How fast do the characters move?

Remind me about this game:

Do they move at the speed of BGI or BGII characters?

TIA

I sorta remember playing BGI, but if I can remember it enough the chars in it didn't move all that fast. And since I haven't (but wanna) play BGII, I'll have to wager that they move around the same rate. Im re-playing IWDI currently & im almost certain BGI isn't as fast. Especially with Boots of Speed

It's hard telling the bare ratios between the games, but im pretty sure IWD's chars almost if not exactly the same speed as BGII. Of course, if someone else knows for suuure... then i'll shut up
(Basically saying, if you want an idea of the difference; make a char on IWDI or II if you have it) It's just easier seen than described
