Help on Icewind Dale install

I bought Icewind Dale, Heart Of Winter expansion and Icewind Dale II for 20eruos. Now I have a big problem. As I try to install Icewind Dale, I put install to start. But I wait about 30min and it wont start. Then I restart my comp and as the comp is shutting down the install starts. Anyone expiriencin this problem? Anyway to fix this problem? I really would like to play Icewind Dale throjugh before second one but it seems that now I have no other choice than to play second one first...Please, help...

What system are you using? I played it last September on Windows XP, service pack 2, and had no problems.

I had this problem when I first bought the game a few years back, and can't remember exactly what I did to fix it. It was something stupid, and almost by chance, I think, to get it to work. I suggest trying to install it from a fresh boot of your system, and possibly don't use the autoplay, but run it directly. Sorry I can't help you more, but it's been over four years since I had this problem, and my memory of the solution is hazy. Hopefully it works, IWD is a great game, and in my opinion, better than the sequel.

Got it installed, just as BGRocks told, after fresh reboot straight from the stepu file, not through autoplay...

I downloaded TotL from fileplanet about a month ago so you can still get it from there

Hello, the solution for this (searched for hours) is installing in Windows Safe Mode !!
