Help! Character portraits have disappeared

I'm just now starting the game in Easthaven and I noticed at one point that the character portraits which are usually on the right side of the screen are gone. This means I can't restructure my party order and don't know the status of individual party members. Is this a bug? Does anyone know how to fix this?

First question - did you accidentally press the hotkey for drop-away interface? I think it's 'H' or 'Y'. You did if the buttons along the bottom are gone too. Press the hotkey again to bring back your interface (you can check the exact one in the configuration menu).

If not, try a quicksave and quickload. Failing that, go back to a previous savegame.

If all else fails, you could start again since you're still in Easthaven.

Ah, I've fixed it. I new that the entire interface could drop away but apparently you can also remove it piece by piece; I did some key mashing (which curiously didn't work before) and found that "u" fixed the issue.

Thanks for the help.

Glad it wasn't anything more serious.
