Cheats dont work

Hi. Im running Icewind Dale with the 1.6 patch installed on Vista. I tried to modify the .ini file, but there wasnt one present. But I found a notepad file which seemed to contain the exact same data, and so inserted Cheats=1 under game options. I saved the changes. Now when I play Icewind dale, I cant even bring up the cheats console no matter what I do. Anyone have any idea why? Thanks.

Vista can really screw up some games and there files associated, so I can't really help you there, but why would you want to cheat anyway?

Play D&D online, 3rd edition, 4th edition, or any pen and paper game.

Something as simple as this game and a notepad file being screwed up by Vista is pretty amazing to me.

Why would I want to cheat? Is this a rhetorical question? Why would anyone want to cheat in any game? Why roll attributes for hours when you can cheat?

I don't know a lot about the cheats, but I've seen various sites and walkthroughs that detail the methods and give codes. You should also be able to modify stats with a savegame editor (Infinity Explorer? it's been a long time since I read about it).

Are you playing with HoW/TotL, or just the basic game? They use different cheat methods/enablers, I believe.

There is no need to turn cheat=on in this game.

All the cheat you need is:
1. save and reload
2. set the game in normal mode and if it gets too hot then set to easy mode.
3. dalekeeper to make a superman if you wish
