Post Character Classes in IWD

We all know that certain classes have advantages and disadvantages. However, we also know that you need quite a few fighter types IWD, do you think the same will be true of IWD 2?

Also, what was your strongest party you have played in IWD? Thanks,

Nippy

I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be the same for IWD 2, though I wouldn't be surprised if it were the other way around either.

Strongest party I've played in IWD is my solo Fighter/Mage/Thief. My multi-member parties don't tend to do to good cause I have trouble moving them around in the confined spaces.

Cool

Strongest party? Easy, my only IWD party to make it through.

2 fighters, 1 thief, 1 cleric, 2 mages

A human fighter, a dwarven fighter, a halfling fighter, a human cleric, an elven fighter thief, and a human transmuter. This was the multiplayer party that some friends and I finished the game with (IWD, HoW, and TotL). It was by far the easiest time I've ever had getting through the game. Grunt would have been proud.

Do you think knowing what was to happen in the game helped, Rail?

Sure, and the more you play the game, the better you become at combat strategies, but this was my first time roleplaying in multiplayer mode for any length of time, and I thought it would be harder, with no pauses and all. The characters just seemed more powerful, especially as a group. We each had a frontline fighter (straight classed), and we hardly ever had anyone go down. I think fighter-heavy parties have a distinct advantage in IWD, though it doesn't mean the game is more fun that way. Easier isn't always more fun.

Well, this is my first time through, so without knowing what the game would be like, I think I did ok. I have a human paladin, 1/2 elven ranger, dwarven fighter/cleric, 1/2 elven fighter/thief, 1/2 elven bard, 1/2 elven mage.

1 Male Fighter
1 Female Fighter
1 Ranger (with x4 bow which rocks )
1 Druid
1 Thief (Re-imported from previous game)
1 Mage (Re-imported from previous game)

I didn't see a point in Clerics, i prefer the Druid's attacks This party pretty much kills everything in site, all has been a walkover so far (only about half the way through at the mo )
