Post Aaaaargh

I think I know the answer to this already, but I live in hope. After exposing Wylfdene and being jumped by a bunch of mad tribesmen, I fought free and legged it for the gate, only to find Hjollder as an enemy, lobbing spells at me. How did this happen and is there a way round it? I have tried to Charm and Dominate, but it doesn’t seem to make him want to talk to me any more than he did before. I do NOT want to have to start all over (my last saves are after the battle in Wylfdene's hut)

Load a save prior to exposing Wylfdene (Icasaracht). You probably mistakenly attacked or exposed to area effect spells friendly Elk tribe barbarians who were fighting the hostile Wyrm tribe barbarians (those that turn red after exposing the false Wylfdene).

I don't know if this helps but to the right of the tent when you exit is a sea captain called Beornen. Now assuming he didn't turn hostile as well, you can ask him where the wyrm spirit fled to and have him take you to the sea of moving ice for the final showdown.
