Quite right. I think the game is pretty much as expected. We do tend to have a problem with games being over-hyped these days. I've bought several 360 games that were so hyped up that after I bought them I was disspointed even though I enjoyed them because of the hype surrounding them.
I'm sure ME is not one of them. But more on the topic, I still am looking for more opinions on this game before I go out to get it. Hack n' slash is fine by me, but I wouldn't like a game that is full of bugs and not deep enough to make you think twice about your actions.

Nobody wants to talk about the game-stopping bugs? The game is unstable as hell, and FSS doesnīt seem to be interested in single-player support.

Donīt get me wrong, the game is a lot of fun when itīs actually running but right now, I wouldnīt recommend buying it, wait for a few patches!

Right, thanks. I'll take it into consideration. Any second opinions?

Umm, that's far from true. They've done a significant amount of more work on singleplayer than they've done for Multiplayer or Subscriber-only.

@Syberis: I donīt know where you got your information from, but as far as I know, there is significantly more support for the MP aspect of the game than for the single player part. The official MP patch is at 0.5, with 0.6 and 0.7 already announced. SP patch is still at 0.1 which did fix some things but made others worse. There is no official info when the next SP patch will be out, or what issues it will address. As of now, it is only possible to update via some kind of in-game update function which requires a broadband internet connection as there is no stand-alone patch.

Many things that break the game are already fixed for MP, while they still happen on SP. One the other hand, there still seems to be plenty wrong with the MP either.

How's the game unstable? I've not had any problems as yet although probably not that far into the game but as I say I haven't come across any stability issues!?

If you liked Diablo and are happy with games like Dungeon Siege then I think you'd like it. The game isn't deep and your actions don't need to much though ala Diablo but as action and hack n slash go it's fun. The sort of game I'd drift away from after about 10 hrs of gameplay I'm thinking. n;y played a couple of hours worth so far due to a few factors ... those factors being The Witcher, LOTRO and Mass Effect

Well not so much as to spoil the enjoyment too much. I still think it was a little over hyped ... a ground breaking game ... that seems to have exactly the same system as KOTOR

From my experience, the problems begin once you get to Charing Cross. The game crashes after some time, usually when you re-enter a station, sometimes with a "memory leak" message. Weapons become invisible, huge loading times, bugged quests, tje occasional freezing, lots of issues. There is one buggy quest which keeps you from playing on (I have heard in the Hellgate forums, I havenīt advanced that far yet... mainly because I had to play each major level 3-4 times ). It does seem to be an issue of hardware, many people in the forums complain about these things, even those with powerful machines. My own computer easily fulfils the requirements. This seems more due to sloppy programming and/or a rushed market entry.

The game itself is quite fun, like Diablo in 3D, but with even more feautures to personalize your weapons. The storyline is kinda thin, though.

Thanks for the feedback people. It looks like I'll be getting the game as soon as my exams are over.

What do you expect from the same game devs?

Well it loses it's identity if it's copying another system even if it's by the same people. I have no problem with the system I enjoy it but I think the promotion made it out to be a ground breaking game when it's not really. The FPS side of it is quite fun initially bit after a while I'm wishing it was the same combat system as KOTOR

Compared to Hellgate London though it's miles ahead. As JoeL said it's very much a Diablo game and if you played and enjoyed that you should enjoy this ... at least for a limited time

The good thing about hack n' slash is that you can go back to it time and again. Such as the way I play Fable: TLC and Diablo II on and off when there are no new game releases.

Hellgate London is a fun game, and I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying it if it looks like a game they'd like to play.

My best advice, however, is to wait like a month or so if you're really worried about spending the money on the game. As stated previously the game does get very repetitive, and while farther into the game there are a few levels of unique textures, it's not nearly enough to hold a person for any extended period of time in my opinion.

Also the bugs in the game WERE quite significant, they have, for the most part, been resolved to a point where the game is at least playable with minor occasional irritations.

FSS has stated that they intend to add content regularly to the game, especially for subscribers, and as of yet I've no reason to doubt them, which is why I say you might want to wait a while before purchasing it. This will give you some time to review what sort of changes they make, and give you at least an idea of what to expect in the future.

IF FSS' grandiose claims for the level of updates they are expecting to make are true, then the game will likely evolve into something more than worthwhile.

All right, I finally have the game. Though I can't honestly say I'm impressed, I also can't say that I'm disappointed. I pretty much agree with most of the reviews and give it a 7/10.

For a hack n' slash game, I think the random levels, though repetitive can still keep the player on his toes, thus taking away the advantage of an intimate knowledge of any given level when replaying the game.

Awesome game, but too repetetive to be really great. The randomly generated maps get tedious and after you start understanding how to play, there really isn't anything more to find.
