Demo questions

Ok, so I downloaded the demo and have a few questions for people that have the game.

1. Is the AI really that stupid? I walked through the whole level and wasn't attacked once by any of the zombies?

2. Does the game really look this hideous?
*I borrowed a picture from another thread to show you what mine looks like graphic wise because it wouldn't let me take a screenshot*

These are my stats. Can I make that ^^ look better if I get the real game? The reason I ask, is because on the demo I wasn't allowed to change any of the settings.

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
CPU speed: 2.39 GHz
System RAM: 1023.3 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Video Card: RADEON 9700 PRO (ATI Radeon Graphics Processor AGP (0x4E44))

Any help with this is most appreciated. I want to figure this out before I go out and blow $50.

1) Not sure about which level was in demo, but at least in the real game the first level was more or less tutorial, so the zombies didn't attack. But no worries, those will attack in future levels

2) Well, this is more like personal opinion, but IMO it the game doesn't look too bad. But for me, graphics aren't everything, but what the game really contains.

3) Hard to say, as I'm playing with laptop with, but at least CPU and RAM -wise you won't be able to use even near the top end graphics. I have double of what you have, and if I try to turn the highest graphics, the game gets really laggy.

Still, the AI can be a bit shoddy at times. They're not to smart as we know they can be in shooters such as CoD, just to name one. But as Kip pointed out, when they attack in future levels, expect them to attack en masse. The attacking patterns reveal the true scope of the AI, where the demons will just rush at you, and their doom... And here I was thinking they were smart to have destroyed so many other worlds.

I'll agree with that. The graphics aren't the best, but the level grind and equipment finding can be really addictive. Much like Diablo. If you liked that, then you will like Hellgate.

Same here. Though my laptop specs are slightly lower than yours Kip.

Yeah, if you're playing a game in 99/00. But, seven years later we have amazing graphics. If I wanted to play a game that looks like this I would role out the original Dues Ex.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll be putting the money into a 360 game instead.
