potions keys in gothic 2

I configured the gothic2.ini file so that the usepotionkeys=1. But when i play the game I still don't understand how to use the potionkeys or how to configure them. Is there a certain key that i need to press to use the potion. Please help!!!1

H is the health potion key
P is the mana potion key

I'm not entirely sure but I think if you go to the controls screen it will list these and possibly allow you to change them.
