Some examples of each:
Action RPG: Diablo, Mass Effect
FPS/RPG: Deus Ex, System Shock 2
MMORPG: EverQuest, World of Warcraft
RTS/RPG: Dragonshard, SpellForce
Tactical RPG: Dungeons & Dragons Tactics, Fallout Tactics
Traditional RPG: Baldur's Gate, Ultima VII
I'm referring to video games only, so I left "tabletop" off the list.

I had hard time in choosing between traditional RPG and Tactical RPG. Both have good games, but in the end I chose traditional.

Of the ones mentioned - Traditional with MMORPGs as a second.

Hmmm... so far everybody has voted for Traditional, strange that...
I picked Traditional too.
I'm not even sure I'd even rank MMOs as second, to be honest, though I guess out of the rest of list, maybe. Just feeling pretty bored of the whole "Go kill x number of y" thing, which is what so many MMO quests seem to consist of.
But I digress...

. | Not so strange when you consider our members here, and how active we are on the "traditional" forums...
although I have to admit to liking a few of the games that fall under the other catagories....

That said, make mine traditional.

If I had a preference, I'd know right now what game to install for the summer. More chess it is.

Traditional RPG gets my vote.
FPS/RPG would be my second, as there aren't fricking enough of these, at least good ones.
Action RPG: Cause killing stuff is fun.
Tactical RPG: I wish there were more of these for PC. If I'd actually played many of these this would be above Action, and perhaps FPS as well. (By the way, any good PC games in this subgenre, that you know of, people? Thanks ).
RTS/RPG: Because these are better than...(see below)
MMORPG: Because this is the bottom of the list, and there's no lower slot where I could put this. (No offence to people who like these, that's fine, I just don't, not really my thing).

I would vote traditional RPG but my lust for decent gaming will never be satisfied in that kind of market, thus Action RPG is the better choice considering I know what to expect when hearing the word "Action" in it. Unlike traditional RPG's, I expect little plot from the very start.

I like Action RPG's the most of this list. Although I have to agree that Traditional is for me a very good second. Unlikely to other people I also like to play MMORPG's, but not as much as for the other two I mentioned.
To bad you can only vote once

RPG subgenre? None of them. I don't like Diablo and Prince of Qin, so no action RPGs for me. FPS/RPG? After playing Bioshock, I detest that genre very much. I admit System Shock 2 is better, but it didn't win me over. RTS/RPG? Didn't like Overlord and others. Besides, quite a lot of RTSes are going the 'micro-manage a unit' route these days, what's the point of playing a RTS/RPG game?
Eh, looks like I'll stick to traditional RPGs. I'm not that big of an RPG fan, but hey, at least the games there didn't disappoint me.

Traditional, by far.
I can name at least a dozen traditional RPGs I loved, but not that much in the other categories.
