| | | Which RPG developer do you have the most respect for? I've listed only existing developers, mainly to avoid having to choose between Origin, Black Isle, and Troika . I've also kept the list limited to only those developers that have released at least one game. |

| | | I'd have to say Obsidian, which has consistently tried to produce games with at least a degree of intelligent characterization and content. Bioware and Bethsoft both lost a degree of my respect when they decided to push for larger sales by targeting the kiddie crowd as part of their standard RPGs: they've really helped dumb-down the genre significantly.

| | | I've said Bethesda, but then I haven't played Oblivion yet so I can't really say if they have dumbed stuff down. I just like the way they make their games so its pretty easy to create and add mods etc. I know other developers do the same thing but I never could get the NWN toolset to work without crashing on my pc lol. |

| | | I probably got the most respect for Blizzard because of the old classic stylish games they made in the past.
As the voice of the present is louder than the past....then i would still vote Betheseta-the games made seem to be intelligent and they have put much determination and time in them.
Although Oblivion was a dissapointment... |

| | | I could vote either way for Obsidian or Bethesda.
Simply because Bethesda only recently came out with Oblivion, and Obsidian has had KoTOR 2 for some time now, and it's been good each and every time ('cept for the ending), I'm voting Obsidian. |

| | | Bioware has been around a long time now and produced quite a few decent games...
Personally, I think Bethesda spends too much time on creating games with high graphical performance and more time spent on getting between A and B, rather than the detail in A and B.
As for Obsidian, while I like KotOR II, that's the only game of theirs that I've played (and the only one they've released until NWN2, I think).
As for the rest, there are a few other good ones, but none really jump out at me like the three above.
I voted for Bioware out of those. |

| | | I went with Bioware because they've developed/produced/worked on 5 or so of my 10 favorite RPG's. Fable's right about Obsidian, though, and if NN2 is any good at all then they'll leap into second place ahead of 3DO. |

| | | I went with Lionhead Studios because its lead developer, Peter Molyneux. I know the company is kind of new but Peter Molyneux have been around for quite a while before he founded Lionhead Studios. In fact, he is a guy full of great ideas for games and most of them turned out great. Examples are Syndicate, Populous, Black and White series, Fable: The Lost Chapters and the latest title, the Movies.
The other reason I chose Lionhead Studios is because of Fable: The Lost Chapters. I liked the game very much to be honest. In fact, this game revived my interest in RPGs after I went dormant for quite a while. For this, I give credit to Lionhead Studios for revitalising my interest in RPGs.
I would have chosen Bioware Corp. or Bethseda Softworks but I decided to stick with Lionhead Studios after much thought.

| | | I'd have to say Boiware simply because of BG2. Nothing comes close, nothing ever will. Best RPG ever in my opinion. |

| | | I voted for Piranha Bytes, because this poll is not about how many good games they have developed, but about my respect for their work. Out of all these developers, Piranha Bytes have likely the hardest job. Their publisher is/was nearly broke, they are European and have therefore difficulties entering the large US-market, and they are only about 20 people making these wonderful games. So let's hope they'll get Gothic III all right! |

| | | I voted on Lionhead studios because it makes wery specific games and haves great ideas to their games ,that no one else haves.
i had a small struggle betweed Lionhead , Bethesda and Bioware
Why choosed lionhead is because Bethesda i think has lost his touch , at least at me oblivion didnt affect much (morrowind is good tough).
Then there was Bioware and Lionhead , i think they both have my shared respect but afterall i choosed lionhead because new and specific ideas.

| | | A Travisty I'm a long time gamer and I feel that I have played enough RPG's to know a good one when I see it. When it comes down to it. The Baldurs Gate saga is one of the best games ever produced, but lets look at this from a more critical perspective. Bioware has made (not sure) 5 games or so using the infinity engine. This was a grand and flashy system of game play but come on. When it comes to it. You have really only made one game. I have more respect for Blizzard due to the fact that they can take something that they haven't had much experience in and create one of the most well done, and one of the best replay valued games on the market. The main point I am trying to make is that Diablo 2 as well as the online craze World of Warcraft have taken the RPG world to an extreme high. Countless people know of World of Warcraft and Diablo 2. I feel that more people know of these games than the Baldurs gate and Icewindale games. Enlighten me please if I am wrong here. |

I can only agree with this.
I've lost respect in all the existing devlopers listed, because they have fallen to produce mindnumbing simplistic RPGs, really dumped down to requier the intelligence of wet blankets and providing challenges of the same.
If I had to choose, it'd be Obsidian for their Kotor2 which at least was an improvment RPG-wise to Kotor1. But that is if I'm forced to choose.

You can thank Peter Molyneux for that. In fact, in most games I've played, particularly Fable, there are some aspects in the game that has never been seen before in any RPGs. As for the Movies, the great thing about it is that the game allows people to make and direct your own movies which is one of its greatest idea ever envisioned. Furthermore, there is even a chance to upload your custom made movies to the official website where you can share them with others and see the work of others as well. Quote: |

That I don't really know. If you're refering to the game controls, I don't really mind. In fact, if the game controls are simple and easy to use, it'll make the game more solid instead of clunky and poorly mapped controls that'll make you want to break both mouse and keyboard.
