Which 2007 RPG are you looking forward to the most?

Assuming they're all released in 2007, anyway.

I suspect my computer might be giving the ghost this year, so I'd better make it worth my while. Jade Empire, PC release. I'm somewhat confident it will run on my computer without overheating the GPU too much. It's become a real problem lately.

Age of Decadence, no doubt. Developed by a die-hard hardcore RPG fan who's been criticizing the downfall and sell-out of RPGs for years, who actually seems to rather make the game he's always wanted to play instead of one that sells well and who's going back to the roots of RPGs instead of trying to innovate by adding cinematic next-gen combat animations. I'm rather interested in that game. Not only because I want to play it. While that definitely is the case, I'm looking forward to the impact it will have on the indie market - if any. I know that it's going to be ignored by major gaming sites and mags. It will have no effect on AAA RPGs. But it can motivate some geeks who don't know what to do with their time to make something worthwhile. And if that means at least one good and true RPG/2 years it's worth being bought.
Besides:
7 distinctive gameplay styles: from knight, serving a Noble House to grifter, preying on greed and gullibility.

23 skills, ranging from Dagger and Critical Strike to Disguise and Persuasion to Crafting and Lore.

Action Point-based combat system, featuring a flexible set of standard attacks, special attacks such as whirlwind and impale, and aimed attacks at different body parts.

8 weapon types: daggers, swords, axes, hammers, spears, bows, crossbows, throwing weapons, each with individual traits.

Non-combat quests resolutions and a well-developed diplomatic path ( "The best weapon against an enemy is another enemy." )

Over 100 quests, taking you to 22 locations: towns, outposts, archeological digs, sealed places of Power, underground facilities, and temples.

Each situation has multiple ways of handling it, based on your skills, reputation, and connections. Each way has consequences that will affect someone or something.

Extensive dialogues trees, written with role-playing in mind. You can use many skills in dialogues, take actions like stealing or sneak-attacking, and play your character with personality as you see fit.

An interesting world with rich history and unclear future that your actions can shape into seven very different game endings.

EDIT:
Oh, I just realised you made a poll and Age of Decadence isn't even listed...oh well...at least it's mentioned.

I'm with Monolith, on this. There are others I'm watching, such as The Broken Hourglass, but as they're more recent, I suspect the game is also out a bit further beyond 2007. Age of Decadence just may be the one RPG to grab my attention this year.

I voted Dragon Age because I have high expectations of that game. Not that I don't care about Age of Decadence, The Broken Hourglass, or Eschalon, I also look forward to them.

While it is true that sometimes you need to take a few steps back to be able to move forward, I don't think the future of RPGs resides in going back to the good old days. I believe innovation can go with quality, and that originality is still possible. I think Bioware is a company that has the capacity to move forward without taking a step back.

I just hope they won't disappoint me...

Assuming I can upgrade my computer at some point, I'd have to say Age of Decadence and Broken Hourglass... They are both indie games with strong roots to real RPGs. And, they both look *really* good.

Dragon Age "looks" very good on paper.. but we'll see... My view of Bioware has diminished since the disappearance of BIS.

Among the RPGs mentioned in the list, I am only interested in three of them. Bioshock, Fable 2 and The Witcher. Not really looking forward for the rest of them. Tough choice among the three of them since I like them all but after much deliberation, I'll go with the Witcher since the game itself looks and sound quite interesting and it's a refreshing pace from the good/bad aspect most common in any RPG today.

Titan quest Immortal Throne, for several reasons, I'll explain why I didn't choose the others first-

Bioshock: Not interested in first person shooters really.
Dragon Age: Looks spiffy, but not enough to go on to really consider 'anticipating'
ES 4- Shimmering Isles: No thank you, Oblivion was enough of a disappointment.
Fable 2: Same reasoning as above, Fable was a major disappointment.
Hellgate London: Looks spiffy, but some features I really don't like, for instance the guns.
Mass Effect: I despise most Sci Fi RPG's. KoToR 1 and 2 were great, but so far nothing else has really peaked my interest.
Silverfall: Got an imported copy, played it, didn't like it. Too much of the same ol' same ol' monster stuff, and the skill tree system is boring.
The Witcher: I haven't looked into it, it doesn't seem that appealing to me.
Two World: I also haven't looked into this.

Now, as for the reason I chose the expansion to Titan Quest, it's because of the fact that the original titan quest was satisfying and delivered EXACTLY what it said it would deliver. "Diablo Clone" understood, birds eye view hack and slash. "Has four major bosses, 3 of them dealing with the final, and the final being the toughest." Easy enough to get. Plus, the fact that they were so prompt with patching and bug issues being fixed was another reason. Not only did they fix many gameplay problems, but when they found out that their fans found some combination classes that make the gameplay incredibly easy, for once the game company listened.

Titan quest has shown outstanding reliability, I read about it in the previews, bought it, and whaddya know, the previews were right for once (Glares at bethesda). Plus, they weren't focusing mainly on the graphics. Sure, they wanted good enough graphics that it's clear enough to see and we have some nice eye candy once in a while, but that was not there main focus and the game turned out to be a really nicely done work of art.

I'm expecting good things from Immortal throne, and do note that when I say expecting, I don't mean "You had better do this Iron Lore" but rather "You've done such a good job already, I have no reason to doubt what you say and create."

I just realized that a poll can have more than 10 choices if you add additional options after it's already been posted. Therefore, I've went ahead and added Age of Decadence, Jade Empire PC, and The Broken Hourglass. If anyone needs to change their vote, let me know.

I decided on the Broken hourglass. I would say Dragon age second. Mass effect and Fable 2 looks good too. But I don't have Xbox 360.
I only have a PC.

Damn... now I actually have to make a decision...
Seriously, thanks Buck!

I'm thinking it will likely be Age of Decadence...

Well, I won't make my vote right yet, as there is still a minor chance that Fallout 3 is coming this year...

It's actually the only RPG I'm really waiting right now...

Hey, aren't you one of those die-hard Fallout fans that roam this forum? If not then sorry, from your posts I had that impression. If yes, why the anticipation for Beth's take on a Fallout game? They'll suck up all creativity and everything that made Fallout a great game. Spit that into the face of every single Fallout fan and deliver the crumbling remains in a shiny 3D box as the 2. coming of Jesus to all Oblivion fanboys that still don't have enough of level scaling and compass following. The only thing I'm not sure of is how they'll incorporate SPECIAL and what will become of the Pip Boy. Probably he'll be turned into a half naked Pip Girl, because we all know that's what makes great games nowadays. Anyway, that's the Fallout 3 you're anticipating

Sorry for all this positivity, but I ran out of cynism about an hour ago.
