Our readers know how I feel about the "new ****" campaign, but I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else thinks about it. Vote away!

I'm missing a 'this won't affect me' option for those who wait for the proper reviews in any event.

I stopped reading previews and news about that game a long time ago. I'll wait for the review and the feedbacks here on GameBanshee.

With the exception of Jaded Empire, I have loved every game that Bioware has produced since the first Baldur's Gate and as such will be purchasing Dragon Age: Origins. I'm very excited about the game and I could care less what measures they take to advertise it.

I admit, I've gone from "really pretty interested" to "I'll see in 6 months after it's published if anyone I respected did more than laugh at it." I'd real hopes for it at one time, based on reading the forum and some features I'm interested in, but if their implementation has been left to a group of cartoonesque bozos, as all the interviews seem to show...

Not to mention actual gameplay as revealed by the trailers.

The way the game was presented, though making me somewhat concerned, had no effect on me.

I doubt I'll be pre-ordering it, though we'll see. While BioWare does make mistakes, they do have their good moments. In any case, I'll wait until closer to the release date to decide and I'll certainly look forward to the GameBanshee review as well, should I decide to wait.

I chose the third option. I could've chosen the second one, given how I find their marketing campaign rather off-putting, but since I am not a fan of Bioware's games, I went for the third one instead (as in not buying it). I also didn't like the presentations and interviews given by Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk.

Given how Bioware's marketing campaign seem to focus on showing how edgy Dragon Age is, I am starting to wonder if their target audience are players of God of War or other hack-and-slash action games.

Picked the third option too. I wouldn't be able to play the game for at least a few months after its release anyways, so my initial views have been held intact. Wanna wait for it to get some thorough reviews from trusted sources, but could very well end up buying it in the not too distant future despite what those reviews say.

Though I'll admit that my enthusiasm and initial optimism for the game has died down somewhat, mostly due to the horrific marketing strategies.

I picked option 2, even if, honestly, I'll probably still end up getting it at some point.
But these trailers have significantly lowered my expectations.. So I guess I'll wait for a few reactions here to decide whether I'll buy it fast or not.

Dragon Age: Origins? What's that then? Gather it's some game that hasn't been released yet, I haven't taken any notice of anything about it, not even the news items here for the most part. Seem to gather from interviews I've read here and there that Bioware are trying to portray it as some sort of spiritual offspring of BG. Or am I losing the plot again and they were talking about another game?

Whatever I don't bother with previews of games for two reasons, 1. They're 99% BS and Hype; 2. My current rig wont run anything less than a two years old. I will be interested in reading honest reviews, so GB's for sure, and I hope that it will be good enough for me to buy when I upgrade my PC. Er, it is going to be available for the PC isn't it?

In case you haven't guessed, I voted for option 3. Sorry, got the text equivalent of verbal diarrhea again.

I try not to let advertising affect me, and look at what the game has to offer instead.

Hey! Don't mock hack'n slash games. They are good games when not played too much and I'd pick Diablo II over Bioware's newer games any day.

I picked the second option. I was interested at first, but now there's no way I'll buy it unless it get's good reviews from here. If I'd been hyped I could have bought it even if it had not-so-positive reviews.

I went with option 2..

I'm not generally in the habit of buying games upon their immediate release, but given the overall lack of promising titles out there right now I may have made an exception with Dragon Age, because for a time it really did seem as though there might be some cause for optimism.

However, based on the horrible marketing since about E3 there is no way I'm interested in buying the game unless reputable sites like GB publish positive reviews.

I am, of course, hoping that the marketing is not an actual reflection of the game itself... However, by this stage I'm fully prepared for a disappointment.

Incidentally, this preview sums it up relatively well.

I'll wait until the game comes out to see whether it is for me or not. Right now I have no plans on buying, but it might change after release.
