| | | BG2 better? When BG 1 came out it was a shock. Nothing like it was seen before. The story, characters, places all were out of this world (actually, only to be overtaken by Planescape: Torment). BG2 was just a continuation, and even though it's a "bigger and better" that's only because you had a whole world to build on. There's really not much that is new in BG2. |

| | | Allthough I missed the "wilderness" areas in BGII, and it felt too much, at times, like "village and dungeon, rinse & repear", it does this very well. One of its greatest advantages: enormous class selection! |

| | Not a big fan of BG or BG2 Although I'm not a big fan of either BG or BG2, I can see their merit on this list. The gameplay was not what I thought it would be and frankly, it wasn't interesting to those not familiar with D&D experience. I think NWN provided a much simpler system to allow for learning this system. My wife learned to love D&D style games through NWN and now enjoys games like BG2. All this said, I am a bigger fan of KOTOR, if only because I am a Star Wars fan.

| | | Sadly I have not played the BG series, but out of the remaining choices I would have to say Mass Effect. Don't get me wrong, I love the KotOR series to death, but Mass Effect was simply, amazing. That's my opinion anyway.

| | | I chose Mass Effect.
It was a choice of either Baldur's Gate 2 or Mass Effect.
I love them both. but Mass Effect is so well developed and offered alot more than what BG2 could do in the Role Playing factor, that and im a huge fan of FPS games. Why not an ALL button ahahha theyre all amazing games.

BG2 is the best RPG ever, along with Fallout 2... Well, IMO |
