I think what we are seeing here in Bioware's decision to make KOTOR 3 an MMO is the widespread perception that PC Gaming, save MMOs, has an increasingly pessimistic future..
Also, we can't forget they are now owned by EA, nor can we forget that Dragon Age will be ported to consoles...
Coincidence? I think not.
I love the way gaming companies and other commentators obsessively discuss the decline of PC gaming.. Sorry, so who was it that initiated the move to consoles and MMOs in the first place? Who was it that decided to opt for fluff over substance, despite the huge success of games like BG2?
Anybody else recall the disappointment that was NWN 1?
Maybe Bioware is still better than most in terms of producing a story-focused RPG, but I don't trust them in the slightest.
