How would you rate The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?

Bethesda's long-awaited RPG is upon us, and it's time to find out what everyone thinks of it.

Went with very good because it's a spectacular game... but isn't Shadows of Amn.

Too early to judge. I'm still experiancing the naive euphoria at actually having the game

With genuine critique however, it seems to be shaping up to be an excellent sequel - most importantly it improved upon the many niggles I had with Morrowind.

Even with the general glitches, the gameplay is pretty good. I gave it a 'very good,' but it could be better. Maybe when the first patch comes out, which I hope it does so I can continue with the main quest, it'll probably change my opinion to a higher view.

I voted 'average'. I am a bit dissapointed. Oblivion has nicer graphics than Morrowind, of course, but that doesn't count for much in my book. I want immersive and intelligent gameplay in a world that feels alive and is realistic (within its own setting). And I get the impression not much had improved in that respect. It seems that the game was simplified in stead of made bigger and more complex. Also, I don't like the awkward invententory management.

It's big, beautiful and you can do anything you want.

However, the whole scaling thing really disappoints me. The prospect of never being able to simply SLAY those nasty bastards that I have to run for now really sucks.

So my vote is on 'very good'.

Ill say this: its the best game out for the 360 at the moment.
That being said, there arent that many god games out for the 360 at the moment. Its a good game, I voted very good, i like that its not insanely difficult but that at times it can be challenging. The speechcraft system, while it doest make sense, is still very fun to play arouund with. For some quests there are more than one ways to complete them, dark brotherhood especially. The only minor annoyance i have come across is that alchemy is ot the easiest way to make money in this game, but i guess its better this way...

I didn't think any RPG could beat BG2 but this one has done it. It's just so deep, so...immersive!

I voted very good, I love it but it's very disappointing in some aspects, most noticeably the quest system which seems to be made for 12-year olds (and it likely is, because the average age of te console gamer is a lot younger than that of hardcore CRPG players). I really dislike the fact that Bethesda made this game primarily with a console public in mind, but well, can't blame a company for wanting to make money. It's just that, in my opinion, Morrowind was made by artists, and Oblivion by technicians. Very skilled technicians yes, but still technicians.

Just casted my vote as I reached the conclusion its too flawed to be a 'master piece'. It is nevertheless an excellent RPG; it's main let down is that it aims for too wide an audience, but Bethsoft can't be blamed.

It is very good, but it's just missing something. If the fast travel werent there, and the compass, (the things that I feel make it feel like a game), it would make the MQ feel much longer, and much better. I miss getting lost searching for some God Forsaken Cavern. That being said, I don't use those functions now.

Sp, I vote very good. Hopefully, expansions and mods make it better.
