| | VE3D's Top 10 Most Wanted PC Games of 2008 Voodoo Extreme has hopped on the list mania bandwagon and whipped out a set of their "Top 10 Most Wanted PC Games of 2008." In the top 5 are Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, and Fallout 3. Company Line: Vault-Tec engineers have worked around the clock on an interactive reproduction of Wasteland life for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own vault. Included is an expansive world, unique combat, shockingly realistic visuals, tons of player choice, and an incredible cast of dynamic characters. Every minute is a fight for survival against the terrors of the outside world – radiation, Super Mutants, and hostile mutated creatures. From Vault-Tec, America’s First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation™.
Bottom Line: It's a sweet ass Oblivion plugin set in a 1950's era World War 3! Oh, just kidding, relax ladies. While the drastic change in gameplay philosphies have frightened more than a few Fallout fans (imagine if Half-Life 3 became a turn-based strategy game or something wacky like that), Bethesda has a pretty good track record. Before you eat that entire case of radioactive creamed corn, try the game out, you might like it! |

Even if they do like it themselves, which is a fair cop, at least they recognise why others don't. |

| | | What about Sacred 2. Sure, it doesn't have hype, but does no one care about it? Sacred 1 and Underworld was brilliant, one of the few Diablo clones to exceed the good quality of that which is Diablo, and Diablo was pretty damn legendary.
I also noticed the majority of those games are strategy or sci fi or a combination of those two types of games. Strategy games have been unoriginal and uninventive for a dozen or so years now, and I'm not saying RPG's are doing a hell of a lot better but they ARE doing better even if only slightly. At least there are RPG's trying to commit to uniqueness and originality.
Trying and failing is significantly better than just failing. |

| | They also seem to miss out certain titles like Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. I liked the first game so, no surprise I'm looking forward to this one. Quote:
7. Sins of a Solar Empire
Developer: Ironclad Games
Publisher: Stardock
ETA: February (95%)
Official website
Company Line: With formidable fleets of starships, players will explore and conquer nearby planets and distant solar systems by applying brute force, cunning strategy, elegant diplomacy, economic mastery, and researched technology. Battle hardened capital ships advance in level, improving their core offensive and defensive systems, and unlocking their unique abilities. From research facilities to weapons platforms, planetary structures built on land and in orbit add to their planet's strategic and economic value.
Bottom Line: Stunning graphics! 4X space gameplay! Real-time battles! More boats [in space]!
| Reminds me of Homeworld. I doubt I would be looking forward to this game as I didn't like Homeworld at all.
Aside from Alan Wake, Starcraft 2 and Spore, I'm not looking forward to the other titles.
