So after my time with The Temple of Elemental Evil, I'm actually thinking about giving this D&D thing a shot. The game is like playing with training wheels: At first you hide all the details as they're meaningless, but as you become more familiar with the gameplay mechanics, I promise that you'll be more interested in what's going on behind the scenes. Think of it as a halfway house for non-D&D gamers such as myself. The game's almost finished, too, and should be out within the next month, so if you've been avoiding D&D for this long, ToEE might just be the game that draws you into your friend's smelly basement for a few hours of pen and paper action…oh, and Mountain Dew. You gotta have the Mountain Dew.
