The guys at OGaming have published
a brief editorial that explores the issues surrounding the current population of Jedi characters in Star Wars Galaxies. A snippet:
Though Star Wars Galaxies isn't a great example of a great player versus player game – it's the opposite in fact – there are a number of players who do participate in it. Given how strong Jedi's can be, well, they have a point when they say they're very unhappy with Jedi's on the battlefield: who wouldn't?
So the question that I pose is this: should Jedi's be taken out of player versus player entirely? This is a very difficult question and has advantages and disadvantages: there is no clear cut answer. On one hand, if they are taken out, then you eliminate a clearly dominating profession (though there are plenty more). Alternatively you take away from the lore if this is done: shouldn't light side Jedi's be able to battle against which they swore to defeat? Logic seems to suggest that they should.
