Shadowbane Warcry has conducted an interview with Scott "Chupas Kabra" Herrington, Ubi Soft's executive producer for the upcoming MMORPG, Shadowbane. Here's a taste:

Q: What about Wolfpack Studios? What are they all about?

A: They're all about the beautiful women, fame, and the piles of cash that come along with being a game developer. Unfortunately, nobody told them that being an MMO game developer doesn't result in getting groupies, fame, or piles of cash. It results in a lot of hard work, sweat, and sleepless nights. And maybe, just maybe, at the end, turning enough profit to make more great MMOs.

Seriously though, they've always been focused on making a great MMO that has features lacking from other MMOs out there. They've always been focused on that. They didn't set out to make an EQ clone, or a UO clone. They set out to take the best of what is out there, put their own spin on it, and then add in some features that they recognized were missing. PvP and guild warfare were afterthoughts in the first (and second) generation MMOs. The guys at Wolfpack realized this, and saw the potential in making a game that had those elements as part of its core feature set.
