| | PC Gaming Market in Tatters Says Peter Molyneux In some recent comments to VideoGamer.com, Peter Molyneux explains why he feels that Spore's DRM is OK and that the PC gaming market is "in tatters". "If you look at the gamer market on PC, I'll be quite honest with you, it's in tatters. There aren't that many releases on PC. There are some high points like Crysis and what Blizzard is doing, but other than that you are restricted to The Sims and World of Warcraft, they seem to be dominating the PC side." |

| What do you expect from games aimed are at a wide audience? Of course they will sell a lot more copies than those aimed at a specific audience. It makes me wonder whether these former PC-exclusive devs expect the console equivalent of high sales on the PC platform.

| | | Ah, this is why everyone loves Peter Molyneux. Ultimately, he makes about as much sense as Jack Thompson, but at least he's on our side. |

| | | Didn't expect this kind of statement from Peter... PC gaming is in tatters? PC gamers only play WoW and Sims? Low number of pc game titles?
To many plp said PC gaming is dying... while others said just opposite
What the **** is going on? Do they know something we don't
Peter, speak whatever you want... but you better release Fable 2 on PC or else... |

| | | He's just another self-proclaimed industry swami. He produced a few mediocre games and was left with enough ego to know what best for everyone else. Just look at some of his press demo's. That man is unbelievably high of himself.

| | I'm pretty sure his credibility was confirmed questionable when his lauding of choices for TLC turned into 'good or evil'?
Also, don't knock the only platform with a functioning Strategy genre. |

Same treatment they give to people like Ken Levine and CliffyB to name a few.

| | | Outside of gaming media, the general media at large have this nasty tendacy, it seems, to grab major company representatives and consider them experts of the entire gaming economy as a whole. It's fairly foolish but it makes news, so it doesn't really matter that if you hold up anything with that name attached to an RPG gamer they'd more than likely toss it off as long as folks who aren't really assosiated with that specific part of the industry get something to read in the morning. |

| | What I like best about Molyneux are his turtlenecks. Also take a look at his mugshots on any google image search. I swear the guy has a Steve Jobs fetish.

| | | It's amazing. At first, I didn't trust Peter Molyneux. Not one bit. But he opened my eyes, he has shown me a whole new light, and now I really don't trust him and have reason to believe he's downright cuckoo. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
