Mythos Preview

Stratics Central offers a preview of Flagship's upcoming free-to-play MMO Mythos.

After doing some hunting, I headed back to one of the many towns found in Mythos. It is in these towns that you can purchase goods, sell off your treasures and collect more quests to send you on your way. Here in town, you also will find the only places where fellow players can interact with one another, as the hunting areas and dungeons are instanced fighting zones. I had some mixed feelings about this type of setup. On one hand, it felt a little lonely running around and hunting solo. But, on the other hand, it also ensured gameplay that would never be interrupted by other players. I don’t know about you, but the prospect of NEVER experiencing a griefer "camping" a hunting spot was a real jump-for-joy moment.

Overall, I found playing this MMO to be a great experience. This game is cute and I had a lot of fun. With playable quests, instanced dungeons, a complex skillset, an achievements list and more, Mythos has a surprising amount of content and customization for the free-to-play genre of MMOs. The gameplay will not only appeal to the casual gamer, but also to the cash-conscious one who is looking for a game that offers just as much as those big boy subscription titles without a huge sacrifice of quality or quantity.
